One of our networking members Paul, the Excel Master, mentioned this week he is undertaking a relay sponsored swim on 2nd April to raise funds to replace the bells in Cheltenham Minster. These bells are over 200 years old, and are in poor condition. The work will cost around £350,000 and while we will be applying for a series of grants, much of this sum needs to be raised by the ringers.

Their aim on 2nd April is for a team of 8 to swim between 80 and 100 lengths of a 25m pool in 45 mins (the maximum time allowed for this event). 80% of the funds raised go to the bell appeal, with the organizing charity (41 club on Cleeve Hill) keep the balance. All sponsorship would be gratefully received.

Sponsorship or donations can be made via the event’s MyDonate page at Please don’t forget the gift aid (if applicable)

Thank you for reading this, and for any donation you are able to make.
